Michelle Bond, known as Michellar, is a San Francisco-based singer-songwriter and visual artist who began writing songs at 15, then spent nearly four decades building a career in art and garden design. In 2023, her artwork’s acceptance into the De Young Museum’s Open Exhibition reignited her passion for music, bringing her full circle back to songwriting.
Today, she creates heartfelt, genre-blending music paired with original, hand-painted cover art for every release. She regularly performs at open mic nights across San Francisco, connecting with audiences through abstract imagery, honest lyrics, and engaging melodies. Her music and art come from the same place — instinct, memory, and emotion — making every release a complete sensory experience.
